(ANSA) - Bucarest, November 3 - Romanian Prime Minister
Victor Ponta of the Social Democrat party, won 40.3% of the vote
in Monday's presidential election, not enough to capture a
majority for a win.
Ponta will face Klaus Iohannis, leader of the National
Liberal Party who captured 30.4% of the vote, in a run-off
election on November 16.
Current Romanian president Traian Basescu, who appointed
Ponta, will finish his second and final term in office in
December.
