(ANSA) - Rome, October 22 - The number of people infected
with the deadly Ebola virus has reached 9,936, the World Health
Organization (WHO) said Wednesday.
WHO officially declared Nigeria and Senegal free of Ebola
but said the virus is still "persistent and diffuse" in Guinea,
Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
The report said 4,877 have died from the virus.
