(ANSA) - Arusha (Tanzania), October 17 - An elderly woman
and her 45-year-old daughter have been hacked to death by
machete in the northern Tanzanian province of Shinyanga.
Their three attackers accused the pair of witchcraft, and
decapitated their bodies, regional police chief Justus Kamugisha
said.
"It happened the night of October 14 in the village of
Ihugi. Both victims were struck before dinner," Kamugisha said.
Police have stopped a 40-year-old neighbour of one of the
victims, who accused the pair of cursing her and of murdering
her mother with poison.
