Kissinger drafted plans to "smash Cuba" with air strikes in
1976, according to documents declassified at the request of the
National Security Archive.
Kissinger was angered by Cuba's 1976 military intervention
in Angola and was weighing retaliation if Cuban forces were
deployed in other African countries, the documents show.
