(ANSA) - Vatican City, September 26 - Monsignor Nunzio
Galantino, the secretary general of the Italian Bishops
Conference (CEI), said Friday that there was too much "flag
waving" in the debate about the government's labour reform bill.
The Jobs Act features controversial changes to Article 18
of the Workers Statute protecting staff from unfair dismissal.
"The Church thinks that it's necessary to look at the
people who don't have jobs and are looking for work with more
realism," Galantino said.
"The debate about Article 18 yes or Article 18 no is less
central and I see too much flag waving".
