(ANSA) - Rome, September 8 - Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram made another key advance Monday in its bid to establish an Islamic state in the African country by holding on to territory rather than, as in the past, launching hit-and-run attacks.
The militants captured the key northeastern town of Michika.
The Nigerian army killed 50 militants during a raid on their hideout in the small north-eastern town of Kawuri at the weekend.
