(ANSA) - Rome, August 22 - Anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) leader Beppe Grillo lashed out Friday after Premier Matteo Renzi chastised the movement for refusing to meet with his justice minister to debate key reforms.
"They would talk to (Islamic State fundamentalist militia) ISIS, but they won't talk to government," Renzi tweeted Thursday after M5S members suggested negotiating with the terrorist organization that published a video of one of its cohorts beheading American journalist James Foley.
"Our moronic prime minister is uttering shameful drivel about us," said the habitually foul-mouthed ex-comic wrote on his popular blog. "Renzi has not come through on anything he said. We must absolutely take the country back. We must rule," the firebrand ex-comic added. The latest poll by Ixe' agency showed confidence in Renzi grew from 49% at the beginning of August to 51% on Friday as a majority of Italians hope he will deliver on sweeping reform plans.
