Boko Haram abducts 60 more women and girls, 31 boys

Radicals intensifying efforts to create Islamist state

(ANSA) - Rome, June 24 - Islamist militants from Boko Haram have kidnapped another 60 women and girls, plus 31 boys in northeast Nigeria, witnesses told media on Tuesday. Some 30 people were killed in an attack during their abduction, AFP reported, which occurred Saturday in the village of Kummabza, 150 km from Maidaguri, the capital of the state of Borno. Earlier this month the radical group killed between 400 and 500 people in the same village. Boko Haram aims to create an Islamic state in northern Nigeria.
    It sparked international indignation by abducting some 300 school-age girls in April.
