(ANSA) - Rome, June 17 - Italians have changed their
spending habits with respect to beauty products and services in
light of the ongoing economic crisis but they have not renounced
pampering themselves altogether, according to a study released
on Tuesday.
Instead they make cosmetics purchases at discount stores,
supermarkets, monobrand stores or by correspondence or on the
internet, the fifth edition of Beauty report prepared on behalf
of the national association of cosmetics businesses Cosmetica
Italia said.
Some 43.5% of respondents out of a total of 2,150 said they
had limited spending on principle as a result of the crisis.
However 35.4% added that they were beginning to feeel the
need to 'react' by buying quality products even if these were
pricey.
