(ANSA) - Rome, May 14 - Italy in 2013 issued a record number
of entry visas to mostly Chinese, Indian, Russian and Turkish
visitors, the foreign ministry said Wednesday.
They totaled an unprecedented 2,125,490, a 13.5% increase
over 2012, and netted State coffers a total of 104 million
euros.
Out of Schengen-area countries, Italy was second only to
France, which issued 2,471,220 visas last year, and followed by
Germany with 2,084,213 visas issued.
