To fight trafficking and exploitation, find legal work

Redazione Ansa

A foundation run by the Cuneo Savings Bank has put up 3.5 million euros to fund non-profit projects to better the plight of immigrants in Italy's six struggling southern regions, sources said Friday.
The "Foundation with the South" will make up to 1.5 million euros available to fight human trafficking and sexual or labor exploitation, and up to two million euros for projects to help immigrants enter the legal workforce.
Immigrant non-profits with innovative and realistically feasible ideas for "exemplary" projects that will help Italy's newcomers integrate into society while acting as models for policymakers can apply online through July 3. Applicants must focus on immigrant situations in the regions of Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia, Sardinia and/or Sicily.
