'Next, new national elections'

(see previous) (ANSA) - Rome, April 28 - Italian comedian-turned-politician Beppe Grillo, who leads the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S), on Monday said that if his political group wins European Parliament elections, Italian President Giorgio Napolitano should resign and early national elections should be called. "If the M5S is voted in as the leading political group at European elections, two things should happen immediately. The first is that Napolitano should resign. For some time, he no longer represents the sentiment of the country, nor the will of the voters," wrote Grillo on his blog.
"The second thing that should happen is early political elections. The Parliament is unconstitutional and no longer has any electoral legitimacy. The lumbering machinery of power will seek to perpetuate itself in every way, we know, but it will be the end for them. Us or them!"
