(ANSA) - Rome, April 16 - The yield on Italian 10-year bonds
touched a new low of 3.095% during trading Wednesday, levels not
seen since the birth of the euro in 1999.
The falling yield on the 10-year BTP helped to reduce its
spread with the equivalent German Bund to 161 basis points early
Wednesday afternoon.
The spread soared above 500 basis points in November 2011
as the yield at that time on Italian BTP peaked at about 7.17%.
