(ANSA) - Tokyo, April 16 - The South Korean government said
Wednesday that only 78 high-school students aboard a capsized
ferry have been rescued.
According to earlier unofficial reports, around 180
students had been saved.
The government said there were 325 students aboard.
Out of 462 total passengers, 164 have been saved while 294
remain missing and four have been confirmed dead.
The ferry was travelling from the port of Incheon, in the
north-west of South Korea, to the southern resort island of
Jeju.
