Kyenge applauds Balotelli for backing citizenship reform (ANSA) - Florence, May 9 - Italian Integration Minister Cecile Kyenge on Thursday applauded soccer star Mario Balotelli's willingness to back her fight to grant automatic citizenship to children born in the nation. "Balotelli's idea is a good one," Kyenge said.

Balotelli, a striker for AC Milan and a member of the Italian national team, was born in Sicily to parents from Ghana and only obtained his Italian citizenship when he turned 18, the legal age in Italy for people born elsewhere.
