Refugees occupy Turin municipal offices (ANSA) - Turin, April 19 - About 50 African refugees, part of a group of immigrants that are illegally residing in the former Olympics Village of Turin, occupied Turin municipal offices on Friday to protest a lack of housing, work and residency permits.

The demonstrators brandished signs and banners, threatening not to leave the building until their requests are heard.

The general registry offices were forced to interrupt services as a result of the demonstration, and police were on the scene to ensure that the protest did not get violent.
