Electric vehicles have the green light

18 November, 18:30
One-day driving ban in Rome and Milan Sunday (ANSA) - Rome, November 18 - Driving will be prohibited in Rome and Milan Sunday as part of an ordinance to reduce smog in Italy's two biggest cities. The ban lasts from 8:30 to 17:30 and extends to raising home heating levels above 18 degrees.

The ordinance comes in response to dangerously high levels of common airborne pollutants that can lead to asthma, lung cancer, cardiovascular issues and birth defects. Electric cars and other non-polluting vehicles will be permitted.
