Ferragamo presents new collection in Beijing (ANSA) - Beijing, November 7 - Italian luxury fashion brand Salvatore Ferragamo has presented its latest collection in the Chinese capital Beijing.

The spring/summer 2012 collection was shown at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, considered one of the city's most important modern art galleries.

The company, headquartered in Florence, used the Beijing show to highlight its close links with China, where it now has 58 stores.

"We wanted to have a presence in Beijing to reaffirm how happy we are with the results we have had in China, and the market continues to grow," said Leonardo Ferragamo, son of the company's founder Salvatore.

The runway show was presented in a dramatic setting - guests passed through a black tunnel decorated in black and white photos and were treated to a presentation on the history of the brand. A cocktail bar was decorated with an art installation dedicated to Ferragamo scarves and accompanied by video of cats and tropical vegetation.

More than 1,000 exclusive guests and celebrities attended the Ferragamo show and the party.
