Montenegro heading to parliamentary elections on June 11

On June 11, Montenegrins will vote for 81 representatives in the country's early parliamentary elections. This will be the first election since veteran leader Milo Djukanovic resigned following his defeat in the presidential elections.

There will be 15 lists competing for parliamentary seats in these elections, with half of them made up of parties that won in the August 2020 parliamentary elections. According to opinion polls, the newly formed "Europe Now" movement, along with centrist blocs and national minorities, has the potential to lead the new government. In contrast, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) may continue to deteriorate following Djukanovic's defeat in the April 3 presidential elections.

Experts believe that forming a stable and effective government will be difficult, local media reported.
