Estonia: government will remove Soviet monuments

They are "symbols of repressions"

16 August, 12:58
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG 16 - The government in Estonia "has decided to remove Soviet monuments from public spaces" across the country, Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas announced on Twitter today.

"As symbols of repressions and Soviet occupation they have become a source of increasing social tensions - at these times, we must keep the risk to public order at a minimum," Kallas said. (ANSA).
