Kosovo: Belgrade, Kurti does not want dialogue but war
Petkovic on Kosovo premier's interview with La Repubblica
08 August, 19:23"When Kurti says that the Community of Serbian Municipalities in Kosovo will never be formed, and that Serbs must accept the forced and unilateral decisions on license plates and documents, it is clear to everyone that he instigates the conflict in Kosovo," Petkovic was quoted by the media as saying. And the protests of the Serb population of Kosovo, he added, are the consequence of Kurti's discriminatory and undemocratic policy and in no case are they inspired by outside forces.
The policy of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is aimed at preserving peace and stability in Kosovo and the rest of the Western Balkans by promoting dialogue and peaceful resolution of problems, noted Petkovic, for whom the alleged influence of Russia on Belgrade is an invention of Kurti. Due to the harsh protests of the Serbian population, the government in Pristina in recent days postponed the entry into force of the new regulations on license plates and documents by one month, to September 1.
A new summit meeting between Vucic and Kurti is scheduled in Brussels on August 18 as part of the EU-facilitated dialogue. A confrontation from which observers do not expect concrete results. (ANSA).
