(ANSA) - UDINE, 21 LUG - "Friuli Venezia Giulia historically
has a very close relationship with Austria. To this day, the
list of collaborations with Vienna is long. For example, there
are projects in the logistics sector involving the port of
Trieste and the Villach logistics hub, important Austrian
funding in Trieste. Moreover, shared economic and tourist routes
within the 'Euroregio Senza Confini,' the European group of
territorial cooperation co-founded by Friuli Venezia Giulia,
Veneto and Carinthia, and many other initiatives. As a regional
administration, we are working to enhance this relationship,
which continues to be privileged." That is what Friuli Venezia
Giulia Governor Massimiliano Fedriga said after meeting this
morning in the Region's headquarters with the President of the
Austrian National Council Wolfgang Sobotka, accompanied by the
Consul General of Austria in Milan Clemens Mantl, the Honorary
Consul of Austria in Trieste Sabrina Strolego and Italy's
Ambassador in Vienna Stefano Beltrame.
"Given its special position in the European context, our Region
aims to strengthen logistical links in partnership with
neighboring countries. In addition - Fedriga explained - we are
pushing on the research asset, given the presence in Fvg of
numerous scientific realities of international scope." (ANSA).
