Merkel, Germany will strive to strengthen WTO
At a stalemate, but it remains the pivot of rules-based trade

(ANSA) - BERLIN, 26 GEN - Germany will strive to strengthen
the WTO," Angela Merkel said at the World Economic Forum. "With
all due respect for the bilateral and multilateral agreements
that I see around, from my point of view, the WTO remains the
pivot of rules-based world trade - she added - and Germany will
focus its efforts on strengthening it, right after the
pandemic."
Merkel underlined that the WTO is not working as well as it
could. "We have suffered from a stalemate in recent years, and
we must overcome this obstacle." (ANSA).
