(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 25 GEN - BERLIN, JANUARY 25 - The European
Commission believes that a reform plan for the next few years is
missing from the German Recovery Fund plan. Handelsblatt
reported online, citing sources in the German government's
entourage, after talks with Brussels. The EU urges Germany to
improve its reform plan. In particular, Brussels is asking the
government to start reforming pensions. "There is a lack of
broad and general measures to improve the pension system," read
the most recent recommendations.
Furthermore, Brussels is calling for the opening of regulated
professions such as crafts or architects. "Germany lacks that
fervor for reforms that Berlin demands of other countries,"
wrote the German business newspaper ironically. The Recovery
Fund foresees around 25.6 bn of non-repayable funds for Germany.
