EU framework for Albania-Macedonia negotiations in June
Varhelyi, report on Balkan progress postponed due to Coronavirus

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, MAY 20 - The framework for EU accession
negotiations for Albania and northern Macedonia will be ready in
June, said the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Oliver
Varhelyi.Once the EU Commission has presented the framework, it
will be up to the individual Member States to approve
it.Varhelyi also underlined that EU annual reports on the
progress made by all six Western Balkans on the path towards
European integration, usually published in May, are instead
postponed to autumn due to the Covid-19 epidemic and its effects
on the ability of countries to implement the reforms requested
by Brussels. (ANSA).
