(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, MAR 8 - The European Union does not comment the 'platform' approved yesterday by the parliament of Kosovo for the final phase of dialogue with Belgrade towards a final binding agreement on the normalization of relations between the two Balkan countries.

"We do not comment on the individual positions of the parties", EU spokesperson Maja Kocijancic said. Brussels called on Pristina leaders once again to put an end to the 100% tariffs imposed on imports from Serbia and Bosnia. "First of all, the duties must go", the spokesperson pointed out, reaffirming that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina must continue.

The platform approved by the Kosovo parliament establishes a mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia within the current borders. The recognition of Kosovo is "a prerogative of the Member States", the EU is "a facilitator, we are focused on the normalization of relations" between the two countries, the spokesperson said.
