Schengen, Slovenia will take appropriate measures

18 January, 21:29

(ANSA) - LJUBLJANA - ''The EU should help Macedonia check the external borders of the Union and prevent a new wave of migration''. This is the proposal launched by the Slovenian premier Miro Cerar this evening, at a press conference. Cerar said that he has already submitted his proposal to all the EU's governments. ''This solution could even prevent potential conflicts between the countries in the whole area''. The prime minister kept things vague in regard to a potential suspension of the Schengen agreement that could be decided by the government in Ljubljana. ''If the countries which are situated north of Slovenia take stricter measures - Cerar said -, Slovenia will take proportionate measures''. (ANSA).
