The Italian Republic Day holiday could affect traffic along the Autovie Venete highway network.

The concessionaire predicted three 'red dot days' (today, Monday, June 5, and Tuesday, June 6) due to the combined effect of commercial vehicles traveling to and from northern Italy and the first vacationers who, taking advantage of the three-day holiday, will head to the Friulian and Veneto seaside resorts.

Consequently, the traffic is expected to become heavy this afternoon on the Mestre bypass (A57) and the A4 towards Trieste with large influxes of tractor-trailer trucks, especially on the A4, heading towards Central and Eastern Europe, before the circulation ban that will be put in place on Friday, June 2 (Republic Day) from 07 a.m. to 10 p.m.

On Friday, June 2, and Saturday, June 3 - particularly during the morning - heavy traffic is expected in both directions of the A4, with possible traffic jams near toll booths and seaside junctions. However, Sunday 4 is expected to be quiet - when the ban on heavy vehicles from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. will be back in force - with increasing traffic in the afternoon towards Venice due to tourists and seaside commuters returning.

Commercial vehicles with shipments to northern Italy will depart on Monday and Tuesday. Along the Trieste-Venice route of the A4, traffic will be heavy on both days, with a possible increase in the morning of Monday 5 and in the afternoon of Tuesday 6, when the last tractor-trailers from Eastern Europe will arrive.

Autovie Venete recommends that road users respect speed limits, maintain safe distances from vehicles ahead, especially near the third lane construction sites, and not use electronic devices while driving. It also invites people to inform themselves about the traffic situation through the message signs, and the website www.infoviaggiando.it
