(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, AUG 31 - "The most important message to send" to the Afghans "is to stay there, and we will support the region to help you." Austrian Interior Minister, Karl Nehammer, said in a joint statement with his counterparts from the Czech Republic, Jan Hamacek, and Denmark, Mattias Tesfaye, on the sidelines of the extraordinary summit of the EU Council.

"We are ready to help, but the issue needs to be resolved within the region. We do not want to raise hopes that cannot be fulfilled", said the CzechMinister, expressing appreciation for the final draft declaration. "We must not repeat the same mistakes we made in 2015", added the Dane Minister. (ANSA).
