Three regions in Eastern Europe at high risk of poverty

Two in Romania, one in Bulgaria, according to Eurostat data

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 18 SET - Three Central- and Eastern European regions in the European Union are currently among the first ten at EU level with the largest share of the population at risk of poverty, data from the Eurostat regional yearbook show. According to Eurostat, Campania and Sicilia (Italy) have the largest share of population at risk of poverty, respectively 41.4% and 40.7%, followed by Ciudad Autonoma de Ceuta (Spain, 38.3%), Extremadura (Spain, 37.6%), Nord-Est (Romania, 35.6%), Severozapaden (Bulgaria, 35.1%), Sud-Vest Oltenia (Romania, 34.3%), Calabria (Italy, 32.7%), Canarias (Spain, 32.1%) and Andalucia (Spain, 32.0%).
