Covid-19: Austria, Vienna and Innsbruck on alert over a rise

In the capital alone, about seventy cases in schools

(ANSA) - BOLZANO, 15 SET - The epidemiological trend in Austria is worsening and the Covid traffic light, which indicates the risk of contagion, turns - for the first time - to orange in Vienna, Innsbruck, and other five municipalities.

Similar to the avalanche bulletin, orange represents grade 3 out of 4. Austria currently has 5,774 cases (up 382 in one day).

There are about seventy cases in Vienna in schools, involving 55 students, six teachers, and nine collaborators. All classes with Covid patients are in quarantine. However, the transition to "orange" does not involve the closure of schools and distance learning, as the situation is not as bad as first feared, a spokeswoman for Minister Heinz Fassmann specified this morning.
