Kosovo: Germany buck against land swap with Serbia proposal

Minister Roth says it would open Pandora's box of ethnic accuses

(ANSA) - BRUXELLES, 04 SET - "Dear friends in #Kosovo & #Serbia, to redraw the borders will not solve any problems. Such a move would open a Pandora's box of ethnic recriminations", German Minister of State for European Affairs Michael Roth wrote on Twitter. Germany opposes to the proposal of swapping territory between Pristina and Belgrade as a solution to a bilateral deal between the two countries.

Roth underlined that "the future of the #WesternBalkans is just a multiethnic, -religious & -cultural one. United in diversity, that's #Europe".

On Friday, 7th September, a new round of talks between the two Presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Hashim Thaci will be hosted in Brussels by EU High Representative Federica Mogherini.(ANSA).
