(ANSA) - SOFIA - The EC President, Jean-Claude Juncker, will
be in Sofia on March 1st to meet with Bulgaria's premier Boyko
Borissov, holding the rotating presidency of the EU Council of
Ministers, along with the leaders of the Western Balkan
countries, reported local media in Sofia. Juncker will visit the
Bulgarian capital at the end of a tour of the countries in the
Balkan region, which will start on February 25 and whose
objective is to reaffirm the European prospect for the Western
Balkans. There first stage of the tour will be in Macedonia,
from where Juncker will move to Albania in the evening. Juncker
will be in Serbia in the afternoon of February 26, whereas he
will visit Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina on February 27, and
Kosovo on February 28. Juncker's tour is part of the
preparations for the EU summit focusing on the Western Balkans,
which is scheduled for May in Sofia, as part of Bulgaria's
rotating presidency of the EU Council of ministers. (ANSA).
