Romania spent only 1.1 pc of the EU funds for 2014-2020

Portugal ranks first, then Lithuania and Estonia

(ANSA) - BUCHAREST - Romania spent only 1.1 percent of the EU funding granted for the 2014-2020 programming period, amounting to EUR 400.4 million, while Bulgaria and Poland had 7.5 percent and 6.5 percent respectively, according to the European Commission (EC) data.

The bulk of the money spent was through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), respectively EUR 241.9 million as The Romania Journal reports. Countries that have spent less than Romania on structural and investment funds are Austria, 0.3 percent and Ireland, 0.9 percent.

According to EC, Portugal ranks first as a percentage of the total amount allocated (10.9 percent), Lithuania (9.1 percent) and Estonia (8.4 percent). (ANSA).
