(ANSA) - TRIESTE - Romanian Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu
met the representatives of the consortium made up by ExxonMobil
and Omv Petrom, assuring them that the government will support
the investment projects to develop new sources of offshore
hydrocarbons, Ibna said. Bucharest wants "to ensure Romania's
energy security, as well as to harness the energy resources, in
a competitive and lasting way", a government release informs. On
March 2, the government established an inter-ministerial
committee for technical support to the projects aiming the Black
Sea.
Grindeanu said that "the government is firmly committed to
ensure the necessary regulation framework to attract and develop
such projects in Romania. These projects ensure the access to
updated technologies, know-how transfer, support Romania's
energy security and meet the need to promote investments in the
oil and gas sector".
