CEI: in Trieste, parliamentary summit on infrastructure

Meetings of Political and Economic Commitees

(ANSA) - TRIESTE - Monday 9 November, Trieste will host the meetings of two General Committees (on Political and Home Affairs, and on Economic Affairs) of the CEI Parliamentary Dimension. Both summits were organised in order to take stock of the different initiatives aiming to build the most important infrastructure networks in the area and on the path towards EU enlargement to CEI countries. On this occasion, a special summit will focus on the migrant crisis.

During the opening session - involving both Committees -, Sen. Lodovico Sonego, Head of Italian delegation to the CEI, will welcome all the participants. The meeting will be attended by the president of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Debora Serracchiani, the speaker of the Regional Council of FVG, Franco Iacop, the mayor of Trieste, Roberto Cosolini, the secretary general of the CEI, ambassador Giovanni Caracciolo di Vietri, the under-secretary at Italy's ministry of foreign affairs, Benedetto Della Vedova.

 

The agenda of the Economic Affairs Committee includes the participation of two coordinators of the Ten-T, transeuropean transport network; Laurens Jan Brinkhorst, for the Mediterranean Corridor e Kurt Bodewig, for the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor. The agenda of the Political and Home Affairs Committee includes speeches delivered by ambassador Fabio Pigliapoco, secretary general of the AII (Adriatic-Ionian Initiative) and by the Regional Councillor for Culture (FVG Region), Gianni Torrenti.
