Transport: Serracchiani, FVG leads working group for AIMR

Support in activities developed by EUSAIR strategy

(ANSA) - TRIESTE - The FVG Region will play the key role of technical support unit in the activities developed by the working group for the 2nd Pillar - Connecting the Region - within the EUSAIR strategy (EU strategy for the Adriatic-Ionic Macro-region) composed of representatives of the Transport and Energy Ministers from Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia. ''This role includes various activities: assessment of projects and plans, macro-regional measures, available resources, organization of meetings, collection of scientific contributions, co-ordination with the other Pillars of EUSAIR, and the other macro-regional strategies, especially with regard to transport and energy sectors'', explained the president of the FVG Region Debora Serracchiani, while reporting to her cabinet the outcome of a meeting held on July 6 and 7 in Belgrade. The Autonomous Region of FVG has participated in drafting the document presented by Italy's inter-regional system on the occasion of the 2nd meeting of the four working groups established by the macro-regional strategy for the Adriatic-Ionic Macro-region (EUSAIR). With regard to the 2nd Pillar - Connecting the Region -, co-ordinated by Italy along with Serbia, and at inter-regional level by the FVG Region along with Abruzzo (second coordinator), the meeting of the group in Belgrade developed all the themes which had been the focus of the first meeting among the eight EUSAIR countries, held in Trieste on April 20 and 21. The EC expressed its support for this initiative, through all the representatives of the DGs for Regional and Urban Policies, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Mobility and Transport.
