Germany: GDP in the 2nd quarter up 1.5% on previous quarter

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUL 30 - The gross domestic product in Germany rose by 1.5% in the second quarter of 2021 on the first quarter of 2021, the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) informed today.
After the coronavirus crisis had caused another decline in economic performance at the beginning of 2021 (-2.1% in the first quarter), the German economy recovered in the second quarter, Destatis said, noting that this was mainly due to higher household and government final consumption expenditure.
