03 July, 13:25Orban promised that the investment program would change the country's development strategy, making it more competitive and sustainable. Orban talked of a plan for the Reconstruction of Romania that he designed along with the President of the Republic, Klaus Iohannis. "It's a true"Marshall Plan" for the EU country," Minister Costel Alexe underlined on the Digi24 portal.
According to reports from Radio Romania International, the investment program will focus mainly on transport infrastructure, which is still unsatisfactory particularly as regards motorways and railways, but also on health, education, and energy, with 80% of the resources for these sectors coming from the public budget, but also European funds. Other planned measures include support for SMEs and the sectors which suffered a lot from the post-pandemic crisis. "It's time for all economic measures to be included in one plan for economic recovery, underlined President Iohannis. The oppositions expressed sharp disapproval, and they said the plan is "all talk and no action." (ANSA).
