Croatia: 20 million arrivals in 2019, record for tourism

Also more overnights than ever, ministry said

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, NOVEMBER 8 - Croatia registered more than 20 million tourist arrivals this year, the highest number ever, the Croatian Ministry of Tourism said today. Until today, the EU country registered 20.013.805 arrivals (+5%) and 107.031.617 overnights (+2%), another record for Croatia, the ministry said. "Croatian tourism experienced a great boom in the last few years" and surpassing 20 million visitors "is a historic result," said Croatian minister of Tourism, Gari Cappelli.

According to official data, the most visited touristic locations in the country are Dubrovnik, Rovinj, Porec, Split and Medulin. Most of foreign tourist to Croatia are from Germany, Slovenia, Austria, Poland, Italy, Czechia and Great Britain.
