Albania: 3 schools designed in Italy to be built in Tirana

Architects explain: an new idea of school, open to everyone

(ANSA) - TIRANA - Three schools designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti will be built in Tirana, Albania. Three buildings shaped in accordance with ideas meeting the criteria of innovation, which will be dedicated to pre-university education.

They will host five educational institutions open all day, every day, which will welcome students of all ages. The three schools will be built, according to the Tirana Master Plan, in the northwestern quarter of the Albanian capital, in the Don Bosco, Kodr-Kamz and Piazza Shqiponja areas. ''The project is inspired by an innovative vision of the social and cultural function of the school system .- explained Italian architect Stefano Boeri -, which is seen as a place always functioning and open to all citizens, associations, creative enterprises, institutions. The new school will host meetings and conferences''. The whole concept is contained in the ''manifesto'' described by Project Director Francesca Cesa Bianchi. ''The three new schools in Tirana will have facades in red brick and white concrete foundations and will be a local cultural epicentre, a new point of reference for the neighborhood and public life''. The schools cover a total area of 29,609 square meters, which will include the Don Bosco School Complex with nursery, pre-school education, middle school and high school, the Kodr-Kamz School Complex with nursery, pre-school education, secondary school and high school and the Shqiponja School Complex with nursery, preschool education and middle school.(ANSA).
