Romania loses Eur 3 bln Eu funds for transport, environment

(ANSA) - BUCAREST - Romania lost about 3 billion euros of Eu funds aimed at the transport and environment due to problems with public procurement management and delays in implementation of projects, local media reported quoting the State secretary within the Ministry for EU funds, Emanoil Dascalu. For the 2007-2013 funding period, Romania was allocated 4.2 billion euros within the EU Transport programme, out of which it used 2.6 billion, while in the sector of the environment it used 2.9 billion euros out of the allocated 4.4 bln. (ANSA).
