"Italy is in an adequate condition to
face the winter season" no matter what happens on the
international arena, the head of gas-network company SNAM said
on Thursday. SNAM CEO Stefano Venier said that Italy has "record
gas stocks of around 99% of storage capacity" He said the
company was committed to achieving a "fair and credible
transition" as Italy continues to diversify its energy supplies
and wean itself off its reliance on Russian gas following
Moscow's invasion of Ukraine He said its strong financial
results for the first nine months of the year "show the group's
solidity and the leading role played in guaranteeing the
security of supplies in an uncertain and constantly evolving
global scenario".
