27 May, 10:37The total number of fatalities in the region is 14.331 (+130), out of which 8302 registered in Germany, 1197 in Romania, 1007 in Poland, 644 in Ukraine 641 in Austria, 499 in Hungary, 317 in Czechia.
Most of cases of COVID-19 in the area were registered in Germany (179002, +432 in the last 24 hours), followed by Belarus (37144, +946), Poland (21631, +305), Ukraine (21584, +339), Romania (18283, +213), Austria (16459, +20), Serbia (11193, +34), Czechia (9002, +45), Moldova (7149, +56), Hungary (3771, +15), Greece (2882, +2), Bulgaria (2433, +0), Bosnia-Herzegovina (2433, +14), Croatia (2244), North Macedonia (1999, +21), Estonia (1824, +1), Lithuania (1635, +12), Slovakia (1511, +2), Slovenia (1469), Latvia (1049, +2), Kosovo (1038, +6), Albania (1029, +25) and Montenegro (324).
In Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and in the Western Balkans (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania) 43466 confirmed cases and 2124 deaths were registered as of May 26.
In Central- and Eastern Europe, Belarus has registered about 3913 cases of COVID-19 per million inhabitants, compared to 3806 in Italy, followed by Moldova (2666) and Germany (2153), while the lowest rate was observed in Slovakia (277 per million) and Greece (268 per million), according to a count by ANSA based on WHO data. In the region, Germany has registered the highest number of deaths per one million population in the region (100), followed by Moldova (99), Austria (72) and Romania (62), Slovakia the lowest (5). Italy has recorded around 544 deaths per million inhabitants.
Between May 18 and May 25, the highest weekly increase of confirmed cases was observed in Belarus (+22,0%), Moldova (+17.0%), Poland (+15.1%) and Ukraine (+14.1%). In North Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Latvia, Slovenia, Estonia, Germany, Austria, Greece, Slovakia, Croatia and Montenegro the weekly increase of new cases is below 5%.
Between May 11 and May 18, the highest weekly increase of confirmed cases was observed in Belarus (+24,0%), Moldova (+23,0%), Ukraine (+19,0%) and Poland (+15,8%). In Serbia, Greece, Czechia, Lithuania, Germany, Slovakia, Austria, Estonia, Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro the weekly increase of new cases is below 5%.
Between May 4 and May 11, the highest weekly increase of confirmed cases was observed in Belarus (+36,7%), Ukraine (+26,9%), Bulgaria (21,4%), Moldova (+19,6%), Poland (+16,8%), Romania (+16,7%) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (+13,0%), the lowest in Montenegro (+0,9%), Austria (+1,2%) and Slovenia (+1,3%). Also in Lithuania, Czechia, Croatia, Germany, Slovakia, Greece, Estonia and Kosovo the weekly increase of new cases is below 5%. (ANSA).
