Kosovo: PM Kurti will not allow a new 'Republika Srpska'

Idea is "unacceptable" to Pristina

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 28 - Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that he "would not accept a second Republika Srpska in Kosovo" like the one in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"I am not against the Serbs, but Serbia is against us and I cannot allow a second Republika Srpska, in Kosovo, similar to the one in Bosnia because they have begun uniting Serb-dominated municipalities there aimed at creating an autonomous entity that is sabotaging the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina," said Kurti, the portal KoSSev reported. "I believe they have the same goal in Kosovo, one must not forget that the leaders in Serbia are the ones who tried to make a project for the exchange of territories a few years back which I cannot say is dead but, as a project, it failed in the end. Therefore, the same ones who tried to divide Kosovo in the name of territorial exchange are the ones who have been persistently asking for an Association of municipalities with a Serb majority population, which is unacceptable to us," Kurti added, quoted by KoSSev.
