Balkans: World Bank, growth to rebound 4.4% in 2021
But it will moderate in 2022 to 3.7%
10 June, 12:18According to the World Bank, the GDP in Albania will grow 4.4% in 2021 and 3.7% in 2022; in Bosnia-Herzegovina 2.8% this year and 3.5% next year, in Montenegro 7.1% in 2021 and 4.5% in 2022, in North Macedonia 3.6% and 3.5% respectively, n Kosovo 4.0% and 4,5% and in Serbia 5.0% in 2021 and 3.7% next year.
"Activity in tourism-dependent economies, particularly Albania and Montenegro, will continue to be hampered by international travel restrictions," the report said. "Medium-term growth in Albania and North Macedonia should be boosted by accelerating structural reforms in preparation for EU membership, provided negotiations surrounding the accession process are not further delayed," the World Bank noted.
