(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUGUST 28 - In Serbia, the conservative party led by President Aleksandar Vucic remains the first political force in the country, far ahead of the opposition parties. According to a survey conducted by the Ipsos Institute, local media reported, if the election took place today, the Serbian Progress Party (SNS) would win 53.4% of the vote, while the Alliance for Serbia (SZS), a group that gathers numerous opposition parties and movements, would get 11.3%. Three more parties would overcome the 5% threshold: the Socialist Party (SPS) led by foreign minister Ivica Dacic (11.2%), the Free Citizens Movement (PSG) led by Serghei Trifunovic, and the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) led by the ultra-nationalist Vojislav Seselj, both at 5.4%. The general election in Serbia is scheduled for next spring. (ANSA).
