Ukraine: expert, Russia will lose the economic war
Borys, Putin had been preparing for years with targeted actions
08 September, 17:53 (ANSA) - KARPACZ, SEP 8 - "Russia is not capable of winning
this economic war: it will lose it, but this defeat will be
staggered over a longer time. Every day of weakening Russia's
economic potential means increasing our security as a country."
The Polish Development Fund (Polski Fundusz Rozwoju, ed.), Pawel
Borys said, interviewed in the Interia studio at the 31st
Karpacz Economic Forum in Poland. According to Borys, Western
sanctions are working.
"The size of the recession in the Russian economy - he explained - will be about 10 percent. Russia's GDP is $1.483 trillion, which means the losses will amount to about $150 bn. I remind you that the entire GDP of Ukraine is about $150 bn. So these losses in nominal terms are greater for Russia than for Ukraine." (ANSA).
