Tikhanovskaya, no interference, respect our sovereignty

Belarusian opposition leader at the Forum in Karpacz, Poland

(ANSA) - KARPACZ, 09 SET - "It is an internal issue that we must resolve by ourselves. I think that many countries would like to help us right now: we thank you for your support, but please respect our sovereignty. Maybe in the future, should we not resolve our country's problem with our strength, we will ask other countries for help and support. Our demonstrations are peaceful, but they are continuously facing repression." That is what said the Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, answering a question from Italian journalist Luca Steinmann (Limes), at the panel "Europe after the pandemic: solidarity, freedom, community?'" during the ongoing Economic Forum in Karpacz. Tikhanovskaya in the morning had been the guest in Warsaw of the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who guaranteed hospitality for all Belarusians who need help.
