(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 30 MAR - The economic sentiment fell
dramatically in March in the EU and the Eurozone, said the
European Commission, publishing the latest the Economic
Sentiment Indicator (ESI), which plummeted in both the euro area
(-8.9 points down to 94.5) and in the EU (-8.2 down to 94.8
points). Amongst the largest euro-area economies, the ESI
plummeted in Italy (-17.6) and Germany (-9.8), and fell also in
France (-4.9), the Netherlands (-4.0), and Spain (-3.4).
"Importantly, in many countries the vast majority of survey
responses were collected before strict containment measures were
enacted to combat the spread of the Corona virus," the
Commission noted. (ANSA).
